-
Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade - five days a week, in-class.

Hybrid model explained...
Example Weekly Schedule
-
Monday: school day
-
Tuesday: homeschool day
-
Wednesday: school day
-
Thursday: school day
-
Friday: homeschool day
The model goes by several names: “collaborative,” “hybrid,” and “University Model®.” As the names suggest, the model aims to combine the best attributes of homeschooling with the best attributes of traditional schooling, integrating them into one educational experience under one cohesive curriculum.

We believe education is one of the most important ways a parent invests in rearing a child in the way they should go, as we are called to do in Deuteronomy 6. While the sole responsibility of raising children in the Lord rests on the parents, TCA comes alongside to partner with parents in the weighty task of educating their children.
Deuteronomy 6:5-7
You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

TCA will provide a comprehensive, classical curriculum. Students enrolled in this model will learn in the classroom three days per week with professional, qualified teachers. This will be a full school day with the full range of subjects. Parents will teach lessons and oversee assignments on the alternate homeschool days.
What it's not
The hybrid model shares several features with other educational options, so it is naturally confused with those options. Therefore, it may be helpful to distinguish what it isn’t:

-
Part-Time School. Although students sit under classroom teachers 3 times per week, education occurs five days per week using a unified curriculum and plan. Some days are on campus, and some days are at home.
-
Homeschool Group or Co-op. Though we celebrate the tremendous success of the homeschooling movement and of classical homeschooling options, this hybrid model of education is something different: a comprehensive, unified curriculum under the co-teaching of professionals and parents.
-
Professional Tutoring. Tutoring is specific to one subject or area. By contrast, a hybrid model functions from a holistic paradigm of education that seeks to shape students in every area of learning.
Admissions Process
01
Gather Information
We encourage prospective parents to learn about classical Christian education and TCA by exploring our website, requesting an information packet, requesting a school tour, or attending an open house event before filling out an application.
02
Submit an Application
The Family Application and Pastoral Reference can be downloaded here. Both documents can be submitted online (below) or via mail.

Family Application Pastoral Reference

*If you do not currently have a church home, please fill out top portion of the Pastoral Reference and submit with the Family Application.
03
Once the TCA Admissions Committee receives the completed Family Application and Pastoral Reference, both documents will be carefully reviewed to ensure that the prospective student(s) meet the academic and personal qualities valued at TCA.
04
Family Interview
Following the application review, the prospective family will be contacted to schedule a Family Interview with the Admissions Committee. Interviews are typically around an hour but may go longer depending on the number of students applying. It is preferred that both parents attend the interview.
05
Admissions Decision
Parents will be notified of the Admissions Committee decision within 7 days of the Family Interview. Applicants will receive either an offer of enrollment, notification of waitlist placement, or a decline of their application. If enrollment is offered, a family will have one week to accept or decline the offer. If parents accept the offer, they will need to sign the TCA Code of Conduct and Family Partnership Agreement, as well as submit a $250/per child deposit to finalize enrollment.
